Like it was your last

A member of a local online cycling community passed away suddenly. Initial doubt and disbelief soon gave way to reality sinking after corroborating reports were tallied. The guy was only 15 when he drowned. He probably never kissed a girl before. Maybe never even held hands. He was due to go for a course in the States this coming Friday. All this evaporated in an incident which the local magistrate will probably conclude is "misadventure".

I dearly cherish live each and every day I live. As related to several close friends, I regard myself as living on borrowed time. Twice I could probably have lost my life had not for some divine intervention. And yet I lived to realize my errors and enjoy life while a 15 year old kid gets his life snuffed out. Much before his time. Gone too soon.

Live each day like it was your last.

Turning Point

I really hope it will get better from here on in. Over the new year, I was invited for dinner at a friend's place and it went pretty well save for a last minute screwup (not being able to cancel a prior appointment). Still deciding on Valentine's Day plans should there be any. But its a Friday and that isn't convenient. Anyway a trip to see the Chingay Parade next Sunday is lined up......

In the meantime I'm all set to head off to Cameron Highlands, this after a real comedy of errors and cockups before getting things more or less squared away and sorted out. That being said, the trouble we went through better be worth it. Lots of photo opportunities, I think I will bring my camera charger just in case......

Watch this space.
