New Year
I finally retired my two-plus year old Braun Buffel wallet - it was getting battered, worn and approaching a mid life crisis with all manner of receipts, membership cards, licences, identification cards as well as money giving it a decidedly portly look. And so it's bursting at the seams but I never really thought of replacing it.
Sentimental reasons, maybe.
Then a belated birthday gift, a new wallet, reminded me that the existing one is getting old. Worn and broken vs. sleek and straight. And this morning, I finally got around to switching to a new wallet on pretext of it being the start of a new year (Chinese context). It seems easier to pick what I needed from the old wallet to put into the new one, than to pick out what I didn't need out of the old one. What if I needed this discount card? Maybe I need to use that phone card somewhere...... maybe this photocopy card still has credit in it......
If only I could throw out the unwanted bits of my life and start anew.
